How to connect
Gmail & Google Workspace.
Prepare an App Password for your Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox. Server settings are filled in for you.
Connection preview. You can read this guide and save a mailbox for later. Live authorization and warm-up remain off. Do not enter real credentials while the connection form is disabled.
Before you start
- Access to the Google account that owns the mailbox.
- 2-Step Verification and permission to create App Passwords.
- For Workspace: your administrator must allow the required mail access.
Step-by-step setup
Check your Google account security
Open your Google Account security settings and confirm 2-Step Verification is on. MailboxWarm’s current Google connection uses an App Password, not Google OAuth.
Create an App Password
Open Google’s App Passwords page, give the app a recognizable name such as MailboxWarm, and copy the generated 16-character password. Keep it private; do not use your normal Google password.
Choose Google in MailboxWarm
Open Mailboxes → Add mailbox, choose Google, and enter your sending email address.
Enter the connection details
When connections are enabled, enter the Google App Password; the server settings are automatic. Choose Test & connect. MailboxWarm checks authentication and the encrypted connection without sending a message.
Connection settings
Match these values to the fields in MailboxWarm. Keep passwords and keys private.
- Connection option
- SMTP host
- smtp.gmail.com · automatic
- SMTP encryption / port
- STARTTLS / 587 · automatic
- IMAP host / port
- imap.gmail.com / 993 · TLS · automatic
- Google App Password
- Your generated App Password
Check the result
In today’s preview, expect Mailbox saved for later. When connections are enabled, a successful check shows Mailbox connected, with warming still paused. A failed connection check is not proof of delivery or a reason to add the same mailbox again.
Once live warming is available, choose the mailbox’s plan and schedule before starting. Connecting alone does not begin warm-up, and your provider’s sending limits still apply.

App Passwords is missing
Managed-account rules, Advanced Protection, or security-key-only verification can restrict this option. Ask your administrator; do not turn off account protections.
A previously working password fails
Google revokes App Passwords when the account password changes. Generate a replacement when connections are available.
IMAP access fails
Personal Gmail has IMAP enabled automatically. For Workspace, ask your administrator to check mail-client access policies.
Provider resources
Provider menus and account policies can change. Use their official documentation for the latest requirements.
